TOP RESORTS IN CANCUN: JW MARRIOTT CANCUN

If you’ve ever been to Cancun, you know that there’s so many resort options to choose from.

Honestly when we first started looking, we were inundated with the number of options. “All inclusive plus alcohol, all inclusive with food no alcohol, no food and no alcohol”. I mean which one do you choose?!

Well clearly from the title above, we choose to go with the JW Marriot Cancun and here’s why.

- Location -

Conveniently located in the hotel zone, the JW Cancun is about a 30 minute drive from the airport. It’s central location makes it easy to get around If you have friends staying in the other hotels.

- Transportation -

- The Rooms -

The hotel will reach out to you before your arrival to offer an airport pick up service. Once you sign up, they will give you clear instructions on what to do upon your arrival. I highly recommend the airport pick up service as it is pretty affordable and convenient. We opted for the service because we didn’t want to deal with the busy airport and all the people in line trying to get a cab. Once we arrived at the airport, the driver was already there to greet us and take our suitcase.

Another option that you have is to rent a car. If you’re only renting the car to get from the Airport to the hotel, then I recommend just using the hotel pick up service. However, if you’re planning to explore around Cancun, then I recommend picking up a car at the airport.

When we first walked into our room, the hotel greeted us with some amazing desserts and chocolates. This just goes to show the amount of detail that the JW Cancun pays attention to. It made us feel right at home!

Now moving onto our room, you really can’t go wrong with any of the rooms on the property since every room has a view of the ocean. For us, we stayed at the tower closer to the adult pool which was very nice and quiet. Besides the impeccable view, our room featured a bar, a rainfall shower, a large tub, huge balcony, and a walk in closet.

- Infinity Pool -

If you’ve seen pictures of the hotel, you’ve definitely seen the iconic infinite pool that overlooks the ocean.

We spent the majority of our mornings and afternoons here to enjoy some fajitas and mango madness. It was so relaxing and serene

- Adult Pool -

Many people do not know this but they actually have an adult pool on the other side of the property. What’s cool about this pool is that there is actually a swim up bar. It wasn’t open while we were there but we’ve seen epic photos on Instagram so this is definitely not to be missed!

- Beach -

Did I mention that the hotel pays attention to detail? Well this is just another example. They had beach games set up and lounge chairs so that if you had too much of the infinite pool, you can go right down to the beach and hang out for a few hours. However, the only downside was the beach section was not private.

- Spa -

While the spa is not included in the rate that you pay, I highly recommend this option if you’re looking to relax in an indoor pool. If you’re here on a honeymoon or here with your significant other, I recommend checking out the couples spa package that they have. Definitely worth every penny!

- Tennis Courts -

Yup, there’s a full size tennis court right outside the gym. Although we didn’t get to experience it (it was a tad too hot for us), it seems like a wonderful place to have a friendly little competition

- Fitness -

This state-of-the-art gym was one of my favorite parts about the hotel. You can tell that they really thought through every single little detail. When you go in, there’s towels and water bottles ready for you. If that isn’t enough, there’s a full service smoothie bar in the gym! If you’re anything like me, although I’m on vacation and try to relax, I still like to keep active and get some gym time in if I’m able to

- Beach Canabas -

If you’re looking for an Instagram opportunity, I highly recommend reserving one of these daybeds. Depending on what the occasion is, family trip, honeymoon, etc you may want some privacy. These cabanas make you feel like you’re in a luxurious bungalow in the Maldives and is sure not to be missed.
