One week before our flight to Santorini, we came across this listing on hotels.com. At the time, there were no reviews, no comments, and limited photos. The only photo that caught my eye was a picture of “the blue domes”. I looked everywhere to see if I could find more information. After countless hours of research, I gave up and decided to go ahead and book it. Turns out, it was a hidden gem that hadn’t been discovered yet.

GETTING THERE
Front the airport, you can arrange for a private transfer that will take you to the heart of Oia. When you get into Oia, direct the driver to Atlantis Oia Dive Center. From the Atlantis Oia Dive Center, you will be greeted with the host and a bellboy who will escort you and your belongings to the cave homes.
What I didn’t know about Oia was that in order to get to a lot of the hotels/suites, you have to walk through a lot of restaurants and establishments. It’s not like the US where you can park your car right next to the hotel and unload. So, it was very nice of our host to arrange for a bellboy because carrying our suitcase through shops and stores and up and down the stairs would have been a nightmare.
HOSPITALITY
I cannot rave enough about the hospitality at Oia Spirit. When we arrived to our cave suite, there was a bottle of local Vinsanto wine along with some snacks. The host gave us a mini tour of the other cave suites at Oia Spirit and gave us a lot of great local recommendations for food and activities.
Every morning, our host brought us breakfast at around 8AM in a beautiful basket. Inside the basket was an assortment of local fruits and pastries (homemade as well).
PS: These breakfast baskets make for the most beautiful IG pics
AMENITIES
The entire Oia Spirit Residences is composed of 5 unique cave homes all with their own twists and spins. Some have a private jacuzzi while some have a private balcony. So in order to choose the best one for you, I would highly recommend that you look through some of the photos that they have on Expedia or hotels.com.
One amenity that all the 5 cave suites share is the common area cave pool. This pool is a great place to just hang out if you want a break from checking off all the touristy items off your bucket list. Additionally, there’s plenty of lounge chairs and seats to lay around the pool so you can get a nice tanning session in.
ROOM TOUR
The suite that we choose was the Studio, Balcony (Caldera View) and we absolutely loved it! It’s the only cave home that has a balcony and is located at the highest level of all the cave homes. You can see from the photos above that it was more than enough room for two people. However if you’re coming with more people, I guess you can sleep two additional people on the couch.
The room comes with everything you need. It has a couch, tv, sink, closet space, bed, coffee maker, plates/utencils. But, my my favorite part has to be the shower. From the photo above, you can see that the shower faces the view with the ocean and blue domes (for videos check out my TikTok!)
LOCATION
The location of Oia Spirit honestly could not be better. It is in the heart of Oia near all the shops and restaurants. It’s also a 5 min walk to the shuttle stop so if you’re planning to visit other parts of Santorini, you have the option to do so.
RATING (5/5)
Safe to say, if you want a Santorini “blue dome experience” you have to check out Oia Spirit Boutique Residences. From the hospitality, amenities, location, photo opportunities, etc, you would be making a huge mistake if you don’t stay here!
